Nature’s Language

The snow-laden path crunches beneath my feet;
the frosty air turns my nose red and runny;
the twinkling of stars in the distance catches my eye
as I see my breath expand before me.

Nature’s beauty and power all around
speaking a language only my heart understands.
It tells me I’m not alone for God is here with me.

A Beautiful Story

There is a beautiful story
filled with joy and love;
a Savior for all mankind
sent from up above.

To show us how to love each other,
to be compassionate and true.
This precious, little gift from Heaven
came for me and you.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Flowing

Out of pure Love,
flows all that is good —
peace and patience, understanding,
kindness, goodness, and self-control,
gentleness, joy and faithfulness always —
virtues flowing out of pure Love;
virtues flowing through us
when we’re connected
to God.

Book Release: GOD is so much more, a poetry collection

Over the past few years, I’ve found much enjoyment pondering and processing life by the stringing together of words in poetic rhythms. As I became more consistent with writing and sharing these creations, I began to see themes threading throughout — typically spiritual, philosophical, inspirational and/or nature-oriented.

With much enthusiasm, I compiled haiku and longer-form poems into my first poetry collection for publication. This one focusing on thoughts and experiences with God.

Click here to check out this newly-released poetry collection — GOD is so much more.

Maybe you would identify with some of these poems, maybe they would speak to your heart, maybe you would like to “swim in the ocean of love, melt in the arms of assurance, and find a peace beyond understanding; a discovery that God is… so much more.

Below are two poems from the book that inspired the title.

GOD is

God cannot be described.
God cannot be contained.
God cannot be understood.
God cannot be explained.

God can only be experienced.

God is not a he.
God is not a she.
God is not an it.
God is all.

God is the breath you breathe in.
God is the breath you breathe out.
The wind that blows through your hair.
The sun that warms your face.
The rain that wakes you in the middle of the night.

God cannot be avoided.
God cannot be escaped.
God cannot be abandoned.
God cannot be ignored.

God. Is. Not. Absent.

God is hope in the midst of your pain.
God is joy in the midst of your exhilaration.
God is everything in between.

God is the here and now.
The there and then.
The tomorrow and all that will be.

God is the living and breathing of all things.

God. Is. Life.

So Much More

God,
You are,
so much more
than what my mind
can comprehend,
and I’m so thankful,
regardless of my limitations,
You love me all the same.

May you be blessed by God’s presence, today and always.

All this and more

Peace is found in acceptance.
Acceptance is found in faith.
Faith is found in hope.
Hope is found in love.
Love is found in God.

God is all this and more.

Free

We construct a prison of condemnation,
and hold ourselves captive.

Bound by chains that have a name —
guilt, resentment, unforgiveness,
unrealistic expectation.

There seems to be no hesitation
to keeping ourselves locked down.

We need a Savior and one came
to set us captives free.
Until you know this Savior personally,
shackled you will be.

He knows your name.
He sees no blame.

So drop these chains.

You’re free.

Deeply

To know You deeply…

my eyes would see with compassion,
my ears would hear Your voice of truth,
my lips would speak words of kindness,
my tongue would taste the sweetness of your Name,
my nose would smell a fragrant bouquet of Your love,
my hands would reach out with gentleness and care,
my feet would walk to serve those in need.

May my heart and mind
be malleable in Your hands,
like clay to the master potter,
as I desire to know You deeply.

Invitation

You judge me,
yet you don’t really know me.

But I get it.

You judge me
because you have felt judged.

How about we throw out
the opinions of others?

I invite you to come
and experience me for yourself.

Enter into my courtyard—
a place of love, mercy, and grace.

The gates are always open.
The invitation always remains.

I welcome you to come
and taste for yourself.

Oh, how I do hope
you accept my invitation.

Oh, how I do hope
you join the celebration.

There is always room for you here.

I want to sweep you up in my arms,
and dance with you forever.

May I?

Eternally

With all the questions I have for God,
when I finally stand before Him,
I feel my tears will express it all.

He will hear me.
He will hold me.
He will love me.

For I am forever His, and He is forever mine.

Eternally One; eternally home.
